Indoor Advantage Gold – Worth Its Weight?

Scientific Certification Systems created its Indoor Advantage certification to assist specifiers and purchasers in making informed decisions on their selections of products to be used indoors.
Indoor Advantage Gold certifies product compliance with the most rigorous indoor air quality standard in North America – CA 01350 which sets limits for emissions of volatile organic compounds.
This isn’t a self-declared certification – it’s tough and costly. It consists of laboratory testing of product samples, documentation review, and on-site auditing of manufacturing plants. Having received the certification, we found the most demanding part to be the plant audit reviewing QC procedures, raw material traceability and production controls.
Why put ourselves through this? We want to differentiate our products by a third-party certification, and we support safe, healthy environments for our product users and our co-workers who manufacture our wallcoverings. Our products meet the VOC emission limits for classroom, office, and even residential installations!
The SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certification is recognized by the EPA and GSA and qualifies for many building rating systems including LEED v4, BREEAM, WELL Building and Living Building Challenge.
